Sexual Orientation: Bisexual(?) Gender doesn’t matter to him, as long as it’s love. But maybe he loves the idea of being in love, because, really, he has very little experience in this kind of field.

Personality:
Optimistic - Optimism does not come naturally to James, but he does his best to limit his pessimism, though it is difficult at times.
Patient - 'Patience is a virtue' and James tries to uphold that thought pattern. He is in abundance of patience which makes him a good listener.
Determined - He wants to do the best he can with his opportunities, even if they aren't what his family had in mind for him.
Emotional - Not in the conventional crying sense. He allows his emotions to rule his decisions; thinking is left on the back burner. This gets him into more trouble than not.
Romantic - 'Romance is dead' is a phrase that thoroughly ticks him off. He wants to believe in a happily ever after and he wants a meaningful relationship. Maybe he reads too many manga's and romance novels, but something about the raw purity of love attracts him like a moth to a flame. He's optimistic when it comes to love.
Friendly - While he has been used in that past, James loves company, and often will refrain himself from talking to others in fear of scaring them away.
Overthinks - He over-thinks every little thing and sometimes that can be his downfall. It allows for pessimism to creep in.
Protective - James hasn’t been graced with a childhood with an abundance of friends, so the few friends he has acquired over the years, he protects fiercely. Needless to say, he also protects his small family with all he has, too.
Over-works himself - Go on, ask him to do something. I dare you. He’ll say yes, regardless of its achievability and do his best to get everything done. In his school life, he was asked to do a few people’s homework and his nice streak wouldn’t allow him to say ‘no’.
While James is overall a nice, loving guy, he can be irritating. Sometimes he pushes just a little too far and verges on the point of annoying, despite his obvious need to be liked. He’ll talk to you death most of the time, too, he just doesn’t know when to stop. Not to mention how he bounces on the spot when he’s eager to tell people stuff – he’s like a lost puppy.
He’ll almost always ignore you if he’s reading, too. Don’t take that as him being mean – just that he thinks the book is more important than an imminent conversation. That still sounds pretty bad, though, huh?

History:
Anthony Simmons was a respectable man, one who took over his father’s chain of electrical stores in the UK after he passed away. Kayla Ashton simply held a managerial position in one of the stores. How they met was quite random – a brush of a hand, a lingering gaze as the two worked briefly in the same store. It ended up with a marriage and two pregnancies.
The first was James’ elder sister, Chloe Ashton, whom at the age of eighteen, took on her father’s last name by deed poll. She busied herself with the running of her father’s company alongside him.
James Ashton on the other hand, was a child born five years after Chloe. Soon after his birth, Kayla and Anthony divorced; they had grown apart, but the fact that Anthony was cheating on her? Yeah, that was a huge factor to say the least. James always felt a little resentful at the fact Anthony could tarnish something so beautiful.
James and Kayla lived alone for his childhood, though Chloe would split her time equally between both her mother and father. James grew up respecting both parents, though couldn’t help but feel a certain connection with his mother, since she was his constant in his life. His father did take him out and such, however it wasn’t frequent, he spent more time with his work and eldest daughter than he did his son.
As he grew up, he was encouraged to read and write; just like his mother had done (her degree was also in English Literature). Because James spent so much time reading, he failed to interact with other children, preferring to indulge in other worlds and other lives. He did make a point to make friends once he hit secondary school, and by the age of sixteen, he even had his own girlfriend, Shannon. While he doted upon her, she clearly did not feel the same way. He was used to buy things for her because ‘you, like, have the money, right?’ Eventually several of his friends decided to tell him about the rumours of her cheating on him – all were confirmed. He does feel resentful, though limits it by convincing himself that it all happens for a reason.
All-in-all, James has had a good childhood in his eyes, and a good education curtsey of his father. His father, knowing that he wouldn't inherit the business, vowed to give James the best education he could. Upon finding out about Nosh, he inquired about it and was the instigator of James attending the University. The decision was forced upon him in the end, despite James’ consistent arguments that a local University would suffice. On his father's say-so James wrote the university regarding the courses, accommodation etc. Despite his initial reservations about studying abroad, he did find some solace in the replies and found his excitement building. He received an invitation to Nosh at the end of the summer holidays.
Due to this forced decision James’ original major in Business changed to English and Creative Writing – it was rebellious, or so he thought, but really, his father didn't care what he majored in, as long as he received a good education that James was happy with.
And so he ended up at Nosh.

Loves daytime television shows and habitually makes tea during them, despite not liking it.
He has a pair of wings tattooed onto his shoulder blades – they reach down to his waist.
Never speaks of his life between the ages of 13-15. His rebellious stage; the I’m-so-goth-let-me-spout-death-poetry-at-you.
Out of habit, he’ll tap his foot or bounce his legs. Never realises this though.
Autumn is his favourite season.
Nocturnal; almost. He stays up so late he may as well be. He tends to stay up speaking to internet friends in different time zones.
Can be quite outgoing and eager to please – just give him something to do and he’ll go away. Possibly.
Mornings are awful. He has to drag himself out of bed and is often unreceptive for an hour or two after.
Bad habit of biting his nails, mainly when he thinks that he’s irritating people.
He loves hugs, he’ll give you hugs even if you don’t want them. And if you’re feeling down? Get ready for some super hugs because he won’t back down until you receive them and a long list of why you shouldn’t be down.
Has a long-since healed tongue piercing.
Before hearing about Nosh from his father, James had no prior knowledge of American schooling – he still doesn’t, he’ll get things wrong.
Spaces out quite often, which is why he looks so serious in his app picture. Frowning = Thinking to him.
Close to his sister and mother
Fears small, enclosed spaces.
Give him ice cream and he will love you forever.
Works as a cleaning lady. Yes, you read that right.
